Overview

When a group of students study a tattered suitcase from the Holocaust, they find three things written on its side: “Hanna Brady,” “May 16, 1931,” and “Waisenkind,” meaning orphan. Left with countless questions, their teacher begins a worldwide search to find out who Hana was, where she came from, and what was her final fate. Past and present mysteries intertwine as they begin to discover clues about Hana’s courageous life. History and heart pulsate throughout the true story brought to life on stage.

Hana’s Suitcase was originally commissioned and produced by Young People’s Theatre (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). Hana’s Suitcase is produced by permission of Marquis Literary (Colin Rivers) www.mqlit.ca and Second Story Press www.secondstorypress.ca.
