Celebrate the unique people and cultures of Racine with the second annual RTG Community Day: Black History Month, in collaboration with Doses of Reality, LLC. on Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m.
The free, performance-based, open-house event will bring together the community and introduce or reintroduce them to RTG and arts throughout the area. This year features unique voices, shared stories, and artistic expressions that celebrate black history, art, and talent. The event will have local vendors too.
Victery Tutson, known to fans as VT, is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and composer whose smooth, soulful sound embodies the essence of classic R&B.
Logik Divine is a powerhouse spoken word artist, battle rapper, and emcee, known for his razor-sharp lyricism and commanding stage presence, he weaves words with precision and purpose.
Sherry Wright has a passion for fashion, using it as a powerful form of personal expression and inspiring creativity in others through her designs.
Tdarealest is a local artist who brings a breath of fresh air to the world of hip-hop with his infectious beats, thought-provoking storytelling, and undeniable charisma.
Dukalion channels his life experiences into a powerful, thought-provoking sound with a sharp intellect and deep understanding of the world around him.
Miss Racine 2025, Willow Newell’s Community Service Initiative, Diversifying the Entertainment Industry, focuses on creating inclusive stories in theater and film while expanding arts education in Racine.
Mariah Jackson is a passionate and creative fashion designer based in Racine. Her journey in fashion began in high school, where she spent three years mastering sewing techniques before graduating from Case High School in 2022 specializing in custom jackets, stylish two-piece sets, and stunning prom dresses.
Ladies of Virtue, a faith-based community dance team, embodies the belief that moral integrity is essential and that standing up for what is right is non-negotiable. They are dedicated to using dance as a means to inspire, uplift, and spread positivity within our community, transcending barriers and bringing people together, fostering a sense of unity and understanding.
CosmicJam, a local rhythm and blues band, will also be part of the event. Each member brings their unique musical background and influences to the table. Together, they create a tight and powerful sound that transports listeners to the heyday of rhythm and blues, performing energetic and soulful sets.
Event organizer, Mboya Sharif is a multi-talented creative force who has made a profound impact on the arts community of Racine. As the Founder and CEO of Doses of Reality, LLC, she has seamlessly blended her talents as an artist, writer, author, publisher, photographer, entrepreneur, and spoken word performer, establishing herself as a true artistic powerhouse. She has tailored the event to celebrate not only Black History, but also the future of Black culture, art, and talent.
**RAM’s Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts next door to RTG will also be open prior to the event from to visit the galleries, specifically the RAM Showcase: Focus on Adornment, which features artist of color from the collection who make wearable art, and Watercolor Wisconsin 2024!
