Women of Soul
The Racine Theatre Guild will be holding open auditions for the Signature Spotlight Concert, “Women of Soul,” on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Celebrating groundbreaking women and their powerful vocals through rhythm and blues, Motown, and soul music. From Donna Summer to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Lauren Hill and all the incredible women in between, their songs have made generations of music lovers feel something deep within and want to get up and dance. These women are the pioneers who have become icons as their legendary music connects with us all.

Singers/ CASTING INFO
Director Monica Fegans is looking for black, indigenous, and people of color women, female-presenting, and nonbinary individuals, ages 18 and above, for this cabaret performing as soloists. In addition, one Spotlight Star, a local high schooler freshman through senior, will be featured as part of the concert and can audition as well. No duets for the auditions will be accepted; however, the director may be programming duets for those who are chosen to perform.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Individuals of all levels of experience and backgrounds are invited to audition. Performers must sign-up for an audition time and should bring sheet music for two songs that fit the style and genre of music. Be prepared to sing the pieces you’d like to perform in keys that best reflect your voice type.
An accompanist will be provided or auditionees can have provide backtracks through a link or device that can be connected via Bluetooth.
The director will choose either one or both of the songs that individuals audition with and may assign new songs for the concert as well. Performers must audition as soloists – no duets/trios/quartets. All songs should be performance ready.
Schedules
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals will only take place the week of September 22 – 25, 2025. Performers will be required to attend a coaching with the director prior to the rehearsal process. Coachings will be scheduled based on director/performer availability.
Performances: Friday, September 26 @ 7 p.m. & Sunday, September 28 @ 2 p.m.
