ABOUT THE SHOW
Omigod you guys! Elle Woods is totally head over heels in love with Warner Huntington III and can hear wedding bells chime. Until, of course, he dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to win him back, Elle ditches fashion magazines for law books and gets accepted to Harvard too! Tackling stereotypes, statutes, and scandal, she defies expectations and proves herself to the world in this fabulously fun and inspiring musical.
Those interested in auditioning MUST sign-up for an hour time slot by calling (262) 633-4218 or emailing boxoffice@racinetheatre.org.
ROLES / CASTING INFO
Looking for a diverse cast of strong singers/performers of any and all ethnicities and backgrounds. No experience is necessary to be part of the production.
Female/Female Presenting
- Elle Woods (Ages late teens – early 20s): The quintessential Valley Girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School. She is often underestimated due to her blonde hair and bubbly personality, but she transforms throughout the story to defy expectations.
- Paulette Buonofuonte (Ages 30s – 40s): A brassy, caring, optimistic hair stylist who becomes friends with Elle. She longs for a meaningful romance of her own, hopefully with an Irishman.
- Vivienne Kensington (Ages late teens – early 20s): Overachieving, smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner’s new fiancée. Intellectually driven, she feels threatened by Elle’s presence at Harvard.
- Brooke Wyndham (Ages mid 20s – mid 30s): An energetic and charismatic exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is accused of murdering her wealthy husband but refuses to testify in her own defense.
- Greek Chorus (Ages late teens – early 20s): Margot, Serena, and Pilar: Elle’s best friends and her sorority sisters. They serve as guides to Elle throughout the story and should be strong vocalists and dancers.
Male/Male Presenting
- Emmett Forrest (Ages 20s – 30s): A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing and believes in her when it seems like no one else does. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly.
- Professor Callahan (Ages 40s – 60s): A pompous, sleezy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely immoral. He is charismatic, but able to turn instantly into a conniving shark.
- Warner Huntington III (Ages late teens – early 20s): A good-looking but shallow and confident but very self-absorbed. He will do whatever it takes to become a senator, including breaking Elle’s heart and going off to Harvard Law.
Ensemble (All genders, Ages 16+)
- Harvard Law students, Delta Nu members, fraternity guys, prison inmates, salon patrons/employees, etc. Members of the ensemble will play featured roles with lines and vocal solos like Chutney Wyndham, Elle’s parents, Nikos, Dewey, Kyle, etc. The members of the ensemble should be strong vocalists and movers/dancers as they will be utilized in various capacities throughout the show.
