Always A Bridesmaid
The Racine Theatre Guild will be holding open auditions for Always A Bridesmaid on Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21 at 7 p.m.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Four friends made a promise at their senior prom: to be in each other’s weddings, no matter what. Who knew that over thirty years later, they would still be forced to honor that vow? With everything from runaway brides, to fistfights, ugly bridesmaid dresses, and multiple trips down the aisle, the perfect wedding seems to elude these loyal ladies. Hop on this marriage-go-round for a laugh-out-loud adventure in sickness and in health as they navigate the choppy waters of love and matrimony.
ROLES / CASTING INFO
Looking for a diverse cast of any and all ethnicities and backgrounds. No experience is necessary to be part of the production.
Female/Female Presenting
- Kari Ames-Bissette (20s – 30s): kind-hearted, spirited Southern charmer
- Libby Ruth Ames (40s – 60s): hopeless romantic, sweet country woman, plain-spoken and guileless
- Sedalia Ellicott (50s – 70s): gregarious, energetic Virginia hostess and life-force
- Monette Gentry (40s – 60s): kinda flashy, kinda trashy, Southern-to-the-bone flirt
- Charlie Collins (40s – 60s): tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, acerbic Southern free spirit
- Deedra Wingate (40s – 60s): headstrong with a dry wit, no-nonsense Northern transplant
Southern accents are encouraged!
AUDITION INFORMATION
Michael Clickner will hold auditions at the Racine Theatre Guild. No appointments necessary and you need to only attend one of the days of auditions. Auditions consist of a cold reading from the script. Scripts may be checked out in advance from the box office with a $10 deposit, which will be refunded when the script is returned.
Individuals of all levels of experience, ethnicities, and backgrounds are invited to audition. Cast and crew members are not required to be vaccinated, however, vaccinations are encouraged.
Schedules
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals will begin in January. RTG works try to coordinate everyone’s schedule and respect people’s time, so typically not everyone is called to every rehearsal. Most often, rehearsals will be Monday – Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. with some weekends too.

- Saturday, April 12 – 2 & 7:30 p.m.
