One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? In A Comedy of Tenors, the sequel to Lend Me a Tenor, Saunders is desperate to coordinate a concert with the best voices on the planet, if they don’t try to kill each other first. Over-the-top Italian tenor, Tito thinks his wife, Maria, is cheating on him with Carlo, a rival tenor, and backs out of the concert. When the bellhop, Beppo, is discovered to be Tito’s doppelgänger and a brilliant singer, mistaken identities and bedroom hijinks ensue for a madcap delight. Add in a long-suffering assistant, strong-willed daughter, and ex-lover soprano, it is a frenzy of a farce promising an evening of sheer joy.
While the audience is sure to enjoy a great performance, some adult humor may not be suitable for younger patrons.
“A Comedy of Tenors hits on all comedic cylinders and, as advertised, is laugh-out-loud funny.” – The News-Herald
